  1. Why do you think that Lauren tried to tell Truman what was going on so late in his life?

    1. I think that she waited longer because she might not have realized how wrong things were until she met him and until she was part of his life.

    2. I think that was because she did want him to grow up first, so that he didn't have to go through being removed from his life at such a young age. That and she also needed to grow up as well before she could let him know what was happening. Because like Kirry said she may not have realized how wrong it was.

    3. I think she waited longer because she wanted to get closer to him in relationship because who would believe someone they don't know, telling them "Hey, your life is fake." She also could have waited until he was 'mature' or 'stable' enough to take it.

  2. I think that Truman's dad died in the beginning was just a way to keep the outside world interested in the show.

    1. I agree I also think that the way his dad died was important because like they said he died in the water therefore Truman would be scared of the water and he wouldn't want to leave due to being surrounded by water.

    2. I agree with both of these, but I also think that his dad died so that it would give Truman this sense that everything around him was real. The goal for them was to keep Truman from escaping, so I think they killed off the dad to make sure Truman didn't know real from fake.

  3. I like Katheryn's comment about hitting the literal wall. Because I feel like it was kind of used as a metaphorical thing as well. Now that Truman had gotten away I don't think he truly knew where he was going and how he was going to get there. Yes he had the plan on going to Fiji but how far can he really go.

    1. I think so as well, it was like just his way of finally breaking free, by literally breaking a wall.

  4. I like how Abby brings up how when Truman leaves he says the whole goodnight, good evening and good morning, I like how she says it's his way of in a way accepting it. I agree with that is some way I do think that he was accepting how his life had been controlled.

  5. Why do you think nobody else part of the cast set ever tried to tell him about this? He was the only one who never knew.

    1. I think no one told him so that the show would keep going on. Many of these actors gained fame by going on this show, so I don't think any of them would want to end it when they could end up getting more famous instead.

    2. I think that they might have signed a contract when they joined the show saying that they would never tell him that his life was fake. Another thing is that more often than not, people won't say anything if they're being paid not to. Like Emily said, they didn't want their fame to end. When fame ends you're not gaining money anymore.

  6. I like the way they were talking about Lauren's tone when she was trying to tell Truman the truth

  7. I agree with what Marley said about us not expecting what will happen if we are looked at way to close. It is peoples way of keeping us "safe" but in the long run it is not going to protect us from anything.

  8. I like Marley's connection to the real world and I would agree I think that now days reality TV is in someways very similar to the Truman Show especially when it comes to children.

    1. As some of the inner circle said I also feel like at the same time it's different because some of these stars are trying to keep their kids out of the camera lens. So in a sense it is kind of different, but also the same.

  9. I feel like if someone made a show like this now, a lot of people would like it if they were like super fan girls for it. Or many many people would hate the idea a a lot of protests would happen.

  10. Do you think people thought the Truman show was fake, and that Truman was an actor?

    1. This is a really good question. I think that maybe the outside world thought it was just a show because the only person who seemed to protest against it was an old cast-memeber. Everyone else liked the show. They lived and breathed The Truman Show.

  11. I can't believe they were willing to almost kill Truman to stop him. They value viewership and money more than their morals.

  12. I think Truman never found the truth about his world because he accepted his reality for what it is.
